How to Prevent Obesity

In this modern era, obesity is a major crisis faced by more than 60% of the world’s population. This can be attributed to the presence of dietary changes with too much sugar and trans-fat. It is quite interesting to note that palates differ from one to another; conversely, you should handpick food items that range across a wide spectrum of nutrients. To avoid obesity, you must include fiber, calcium and vitamins in your dietary routine. Ultimately, the battle against obesity can be won by engaging in frequent workouts and by consuming foods with fewer calories.

Consume Fiber: As mentioned previously, you should eat lots of fiber to prevent obesity. Research states that fiber rich foods can give you better control over your body. Conversely, you will have the wit to reduce the risks of weight gain. The bond between weight loss and fiber is inevitable. By definition, fiber is a complex carbohydrate that requires lots of time to digest. This clearly proves that you will be full for a longer period of time. There are plenty of low-caloric fiber foods. Famous examples would be lentils, whole wheat breads, fruits and vegetables. On an average, adults should consume 25 g to 30 g of fiber every day.

Calcium Rich Food Items: Secondly, you should consume lots of calcium rich food items. A recent study by Mayo Clinic proved that obese people have very little calcium in their dietary routine. Though the relationship between calcium and weight loss is unknown, the mineral is capable of reducing weight gain drastically. Some believe that calcium reacts with hormones and increases the rate of metabolism. Moreover, calcium can prevent you from gaining excess weight. For calcium to work miracles in your body, you should consume it with vitamin D. Foods that are rich in calcium would be salmon, milk, broccoli, cheese, sardines, yogurt, mackerel and kale.

Plants: You must consume plants to reduce the likelihood of obesity. The 2010 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee states that overweight people must eat vegetables, peas, seeds, nuts and cooked dry beans to feel fit & slim. Even staying undernourished can increase the chances of obesity in people. This is why you should replace high caloric food items with plants that are nutrient dense. In fact, plant varieties can reverse potassium-, fiber-, vitamin D- and calcium- deficiencies.

Low Calorie Diet: To prevent obesity, you must consume plenty of low calorie foods. Obesity is caused directly by foods and drinks with excess calories. Always remember that the consumption of low calorie foods will not make you hungry but get you all important nutrients.

Essential Carbs: Lastly, you should fill your body with essential sources of carbohydrates. This is a simple change that will prevent weight gain and reduce obesity prominently.
